masteries

mastered december 20th 2012 and submitted january 20th 2013. I was so nervous of joining Colors at first, never having participated in any online TCG before, but collecting a Nanami deck was just too delightful to resist. So I knew from the start that cowbell was going to be my first deck. Nanami is my favourite RGU character, which is possibly ridiculous of me. I'll always just remind myself that she tried to leave Ohtori Academy before anyone else. She tried to transfer out. Nanami ;a;
And then men ruined everything. MEN >:(
Nanami is ridiculous, incredibly naive, short-sighted, spiteful, and outrageously broken. I was always going to find her delightful. I love you, Nanami, and I honestly believe your future is bright.

mastered and submitted january 20th 2013. This is the first deck I submitted all by myself! Technically I submitted ocean deck prior to this, but bright is the first time I compiled a deck by myself, and fittingly it is my second mastery! I collected this deck for two reasons.
1. Lante is a great character in his own right. Aruosumente is not a series I expected to read (see point 2), but in browsing the scans I've become rather invested! Which is double exciting as I don't read all that much manga anymore. Oh Lante. Oh Dante.
2. Lante is a PB for one of my original characters. YES, MY SHAME REVEALED, the other reason I submitted this deck, the reason I looked at this series in the first place. It's okay Kris don't let anyone shame you........
Anyway the important thing is oh my god look at him he's so adorable right ;a;

mastered and submitted january 20th 2013. WELL, why did I collect smoker? Uhhhh it's very hard to explain but I am always going to have a particular fondness for this character. Cigarettes and alcohol, demons and soldiers, I will be as ambiguous as I like you can't stop me.

mastered and submitted march 26 2013. First mastery in a while! Princess Tutu is a series I'm incredibly fond of, and I'm kind of glad that kinkan is my first mastery from it! Though I wonder if perhaps I might submit Drosselmeyer and Autor decks one of these days...! And what a pretty master badge!

mastered april 24th 2013 and submitted may 21st. raison is my second Utena deck, and has the distinction of being the only wholly decent male character in that series, hahaha. SORRY GUYS BUT IT'S TRUE, you are good people Miki. Confused sometimes, but good. Keep doing what you're doing, kid.

mastered on 21st may 2013. There are a lot of characters in penguindrum that I really enjoy, but I think Oginome Ringo has to be my favourite. What is it with Ikuhara and making these terribly broken ladies I utterly adore? Ringo is the character that keeps you in panicked what-will-she-do-next suspense for the first half of the series, and just grows into someone so wonderful in the latter half. Oh she was always wonderful darn it. DARN IT. So that's a lovely diary deck for me, let's go have some apple curry to celebrate you guys.

mastered and submitted may 21st 2013. Xelha is another one of the decks I submitted very early on! In fact she's the first ever deck I submitted, I think, although I did not gather the images for it so I don't quite count it the same way. Regardless, this is the first ocean mastery and I'm really glad it's mine. I love Xelha so much you guys you don't even know.
She just hits so many things I love in a character. She's brilliantly compassionate without ever being a pushover, she's gentle and kind-hearted but steely and prepared. She is holding so many cards so close to her chest, and how she manages to do everything she does while holding so many secrets is beyond me but I love her for it. She's just incredible and brave and fierce and full of love and I AM FULL OF LOVE TOO I love you Xelha.

submitted and mastered 21st may 2013. bartender is my first true OC deck, hahaha. While the bright deck also represents an OC, this is the first one where I have to straight up admit that I know nothing about the actual character represented here. Sorry, whoever you are. You're always going to be Larsen to me.
Larsennnn. Larsen pleaseeee.
Perhaps, one day, we'll actually get some Lady Helene up in this joint. WHAT THEN, LARSEN. WHAT THEN.

mastered april 24th 2013 and submitted 21st may 2013. Revolver Ocelot sure manages to be a complicated man, doesn't he? Or perhaps he's just involved in a lot of very complicated events. I've liked Ocelot for a long time now, I'm glad I was able to collect him so smoothly and I'm glad his deck is largely comprised of things post-Snake Eater. NOT THAT LITTLE STUPID OCELOT ISN'T FUN TOO, but you know.

mastered april 24th 2013 and submitted may 21st 2013. SNAKE, DID YOU LIKE MY SUNGLASSES?

I mean yes recessive deck, good

mastered 22nd July 2013. Eureka Seven isn't a series that I have especially strong feelings about, but I've always been very fond of Eureka herself. She was actually one of the first decks I decided to collect here, so it's sort of surprising that it took this long! But I'm really glad to have her, haha. Lovely Eureka, maybe I'll watch your sequel series someday...

mastered 22nd july 2013. Anise Tatlin, the absolute best character in Tales of the Abyss bar none, and one of my favourite Tales of character in general. Maybe it's just because we're both money-grubbing, hahaha, WE'RE CONNECTED ON A SPIRITUAL LEVEL. Maybe I just think she's so brave after suffering so much. She's wonderful and I will protect her from anyone, Anise you are a darling and the best and you will achieve anything you set your heart to o-k o-k ;;

mastered 22nd jul 2013y. Wakaba is one of those characters that I definitely like but I don't really have any strong feelings towards, which probably unfortunately summarises her and her issues pretty well, really, doesn't it. I'm sorry, lovely Wakaba, you are good peoples and I wish you well, ahhh.

mastered 22nd july 2013. The best thing I can think to say about this dude is that I have a friend who really likes him so I have that good association. Otherwise there's a reason I used the celebration deck to master him - kinda hard to muster up the enthusiasm. S-sorry Mikage.....
His mastery badge is super nice, though!

mastered 22nd july 2013. Whenever I think about replaying this game, she is the character that particularly comes to mind. The Boss is wonderful, such a poised and dedicated figure standing so tall amidst tragedy past and present. She's just wonderful all round.

mastered 22nd july 2013. My first Simoun mastery! Paraietta is one of the first characters I really connected with in Simoun, and she's one that I still really adore. She seems to be a bit polarising in the fandom, sort of filling a perceived "nice guy" role in this largely yuri-centric work. It's certainly true that she makes some questionable choices, and has a lot of growing to do as a person. But I really do feel that she gets there, that that isn't something to take away from her. Seeing a strong, stoic character become more and more left behind as they realise those around them are actually more than capable of adapting and protecting themselves... I really enjoyed seeing her careful breakdown, and I was proud to see herself pick herself up a better person. I think some people excuse her too utterly, and others begrudge her too fully - I think you can acknowledge it all and still be glad to see where she came from through to who she becomes. I really like Para-sama okay, shush.

mastered 22nd july 2013. Fakir is a character who'll always amuse me, just because I remember how determined I was to dislike him. He starts out as this utter jerkhole, and I remember thinking 'oh no, narrative, don't you dare try and act like some kinda sympathetic backstory is going to make me like this guy, and don't you ever dare try and set him romantically opposite Ahiru I will cut you'. And then backstory, and then episode twelve happened and then suddenly god damn it Fakir you poor adorable boy your life is hard and you are stunted but you try so hard and curse you Princess Tutu. Curse you and your flawless beautiful cast.

mastered 22nd july 2013. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, COLORFUL FRIENDS!

mastered 23rd september 2012. Pretear isn't a series I have particularly strong feelings for. It's a bit rubbish, really, but it's also very harmless and cute and emphasises family, and that's always nice. At any rate, though, Mannen just jumps out as a sort of character I tend to become attached to - somewhere between being a child and being an adult, a bit precocious and just. not quite there yet, but oh, he does try hard. Stupid dear kid. I like Mannen okay.

mastered 23rd September 2013. This isss... Griffon Minos, right? I'm not even going to lie to you, this deck is another PB deck. This is Thane, and technically Thane's PB is actually some guy from Reborn! but darn if this deck doesn't completely hit the mark as well. At this point I actually consider this more accurate, and just praise the quality of his iconset for making the other character work. I'M SURE THIS MAKES HEAPS OF SENSE TO PEOPLE.
That being said, I did read some of Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas, and I don't really have words for how great the chapters with Minos and Albafica were. I might actually collect Albafica one of these days...

mastered 23rd September 2013. I LOVE BARRET OKAY. Barret is my favourite character in Final Fantasy VII. He's sort of ridiculous really, and he's made a few terrible life choices in his time, but he's a big loveable daddy and he's passionate and he's hilarious. He's really quite caring! And so enthusiastic, and so ready to repay kindnesses shown to him, and so. bad at metaphors, hahaha, and I just really love him, he is the best. He doesn't always get it, but he's always got your back.

BUT THEN I TRAGICALLY BECAME TOO LAZY TO ORGANISE THINGS EVER AGAIN
